Working under the guidance of the Memberships Manager and Director of Programming, the Assistant will help plan, contribute to, and execute a range of community events and initiatives, including the MTL Theatre Launch, QDF Production Hang with ShopDogs Inc., and a collaboration with the Montreal Fringe Festival. This hybrid role is ideal for emerging artists or cultural workers looking to gain hands-on experience in event production, community outreach, digital programming, and non-profit theatre operations. The position also includes research and coordination support for the QDF Demographics Survey and Resource Corner, as well as planning fundraising events. Supervision and mentorship are integral to the role, offering valuable professional development within Quebec’s official language minority theatre community.

About the QDF

Since 1972, the Quebec Drama Federation has been serving the needs of the English-language theatre community in Quebec. With hundreds of members, we are committed to providing advocacy, resources, and educational initiatives that support and strengthen our artistic community. The QDF exists to support English-language theatre companies, artists and their artistic expressions in Quebec. This support manifests itself through leadership, collaborations with partners and stakeholders in the community, promotion of the artists and companies, professional development and identification of the role of theatre in the community at large. It also provides resources and means through which success and recognition of English-language theatre companies and artists in Quebec, to the rest of Canada and on an international scale, is achieved.
