What is the Overture?
Launched in October 2023, the Overture is a project under QDF’s visibility pillar. Its goal is to provide support to the Quebec English Theatre community in the wake of a notable decline in arts coverage, a decline we are seeing on a national scale.
The Overture publishes two previews pieces on a monthly basis, spotlighting two English Theatre shows that are taking place that month. The first piece is an editorial preview article, and the second is a shorter Q&A piece, presented under The Overture: Stage Left. The shows that are featured in our monthly editions are selected via a lottery system which opens to our membership two months before.
