The Discovery Series
The Discovery Series is a live presentation and conversation with directors and casting professionals.
Each artist will have an 8-minute slot to both audition for professional directors and have an opportunity to chat about your artistic interests.
The Discovery Series will feature 10 selected artists who would most benefit from increased visibility and exposure. The aim is to elevate equity-seeking and/or emerging artists by providing a platform to connect with directors who might invest in their professional development moving forward.
-
THE DISCOVERY COMMITTEE
The Discovery Committee is made up of a small group of professional community members with diverse experiences and artistic backgrounds, primarily in directing. They are independent artists, unaffiliated with any one company or organization.
Their role is to identify the artists who would most benefit from the visibility of the Discovery Series platform. The committee seeks dynamic individuals who demonstrate artistic potential and talent, particularly those who may not have yet had the chance to showcase their abilities and personality to a group of professional theatre makers.
Indie Day
QDF is so excited to be bringing back Indie Day as part of QETS!
Indie Day will offer 30 audition slots to actors who are not selected for the Discovery Series, giving them the opportunity to be seen by our indie member companies.
The format will be the same as the Discovery Series: an audition followed by a brief chat with our indie panel.
Slots for Indie are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the submission time of your initial registration form (not your self-tape).
Once these chats have concluded, all submissions will be made available to all directors, regardless of whether you were selected for the Discovery Series, Indie Day or neither.
