DESIGNERS

Showcasing your design work through this opportunity allows you to connect with producers, artistic directors, and directors from our PACT member companies, as well as professional companies operating under CAEA (Canadian Actors’ Equity Association) contracts.

During your appointment, you can either showcase the existing work in your portfolio or you may choose to respond to one of the design prompts we’ll provide. After your presentation, the panel will engage with you through a brief Q&A to learn more about your creative process and vision.

  • Complete the registration form below (opening on November 11, 2024) where you will also be asked to upload:

    • Your headshot

    • Your artistic CV

    • Your design portfolio with a maximum of 3 offerings. (These can be from the same show)

  • For the Designer Showcase, you may choose between the following options:

    • Present 2-3 selected examples from a past work(s) from your portfolio: Showcase a completed design project that highlights your skills and artistic approach.

    • Present a Design Proposal: Develop a new proposal based on a theme, image, or text prompt that we’ll provide shortly after you register.

You will have 10 minutes to present your chosen option to the panel and engage in a brief Q&A.

    • Must be 18 years or older

    • Must be a resident of Quebec

    • Must have at least 2 design credits on your CV

Deadline: November 25, 2024

presentations

For your design presentation, you can either:

1- Present your portfolio: share 2-3 past designs with our PACT/CAEA panel. These can be from different productions or multiple designs from the same show—whichever best highlights your skills and style! Remember you only have 10 minutes, so please keep it concise.

OR

2- Select one of the three prompts provided. Your response does not have to be a fully realized design—it can take the form of a concept, mood board, or demo.  Focus on conveying your inspiration, vision, and how it connects to the prompt you’ve chosen.
